Accreditation

The Vanderbilt University Police Department is proud to be the first police department in Tennessee to achieve triple accreditation through three governing bodies, CALEA (Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies), IACLEA (International Association of Law Enforcement Administrators) and TLEA (Tennessee Law Enforcement Accreditation).  It is always our goal to hold our department to the highest level of professional accountability and our voluntary efforts to obtain these accreditations exemplifies the University’s commitment to provide superior police, security and community services.

VUPD earned our initial CALEA accreditation in 2009, and achieved reaccreditation in 2012.
