VUPD Communications Center

VUPD Communications Center

Communications Center

The VUPD Communications Center coordinates the delivery of emergency services to Vanderbilt University and Medical Center.  The Communications Center is staffed around the clock by trained Communications Officers.  These professionals are responsible for receiving, and documenting calls from citizens, dispatching resources as necessary, monitoring alarms, performing records checks, relaying information, and coordinating mutual aid requests from other agencies.  Communications Officers must know a large amount of information, and be able to quickly find much more.

Call 911 from a campus telephone, or (615) 421-1911 from your cell phone to report an emergency on campus.

Records Unit

This Unit is responsible for receiving, processing, filing, and maintaining police reports and other related documents. The Records Unit provides information and records assistance to the community and police personnel.
