About: Patrol Bureau

The Patrol Bureau is commanded by a Major who reports directly to the Chief of Police.  The Bureau is composed of two precincts whose primary responsibilities are to provide patrol services to the geographical area served by the Bureau.
 
University Central Precinct

The Central Campus Precinct provides police services to an area that includes university central administrative buildings, residence halls, the Peabody campus, Greek Row, and athletic venues.  It accomplishes its mission through the efforts of the following component.

The patrol officers assigned to the University Central Precinct provide first level police services to our community.  The patrol officers are responsible for providing round-the-clock preventive and suppressive patrols designed to minimize the occurrence of crime, to locate and apprehend criminal suspects, and to enforce traffic and other safety related laws and ordinances.


VUMC Precinct

The VUMC Precinct provides police services to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center on the main campus and One Hundred Oaks.  It accomplishes its mission through the efforts of the following component.

The patrol officers assigned to the VUMC Precinct provide first level police services to our community.  The patrol officers are responsible for providing round-the-clock preventive and suppressive patrols designed to minimize the occurrence of crime, to locate and apprehend criminal suspects, and to enforce traffic and other safety related laws and ordinances.
