Account Holders

Account holders may have authority to make decisions concerning alarm systems and premises security. While it is up to the individual department/building administrator to determine the overall authority of each account holder, all account holders should be able to do the following:

  • Respond to alarms. VUPD officers will check the area, however in many cases it is not possible to determine if there has been a breach at a location without the aid of someone familiar with the location. In addition officers cannot disarm/arm alarm systems.
  • Be a first point of contact for alarm related problems.

    In addition to the above, account holders will be placed on a list serve. This list serve will be used to remind account holders to make periodic update/tests of their alarm system and to notify them of campus wide events that may effect alarm service.
