Emergency Preparedness: Medical Emergencies
In the event of a medical emergency:
1. Call Vanderbilt Police:
- Call 911 from any campus phone.
- Call (615) 322-2222 from any other phone.
2. Provide the following information
- Building name
- Floor and room number
- Caller's name and phone number
- Nature of injury and severity of the injury
- Location of injured person
- Age of injured person
- Sex of injured person
- Current condition
- Any known medical history
3. Remain with the person with the medical injury.
- DO NOT move them unless they are in immediate danger of further injury.
4. Meet Emergency Personnel
- If possible, send someone to meet the responding emergency personnel at the location designated by the dispatcher.
