Organizational Chart:  Special Response Team

The Special Response Team is a team of specifically trained personnel, proficient in the use of special weapons and tactics, geared to combat small-scaled actions or contend with unusual situations. The team is comprised of select members of the Vanderbilt Police Department who have taken and passed a battery of tests to obtain membership onto the Special Response Team. These test include a physical fitness evaluation, firearms qualification, oral interview, and psychological examination. The primary objective of the S.R.T. is to complement the Vanderbitl Police Department by providing the use of special weapons and tactics in "unusual situations" that cannot be effectively dealt with by Line Operations. Some of the specialized supportive and tactical actions include: surveillance, inner-perimeter containment, expedition of large scale arrests, dignitary protection, and any other situations that may require the services of the S.R.T. The team is always on call and is expected to respond in a timely and professional manner.
