R.A.D. provides:

    • Reliable, professional training by certified instructors
    • Practical self-defense options that specifically apply to gender physiology and mind set
    • R.A.D. is a comprehensive program emphasizing awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance
    • A continuum of strategies to counteract assaults by strangers and acquaintances

    • In case a participant needs assistance with a past or future incidents, in-house (VUPD) Instructors can provide quick and knowledgeable access to university and other local resources
    • Lifetime guarantee for education and practice

This program is unique providing a lifetime guarantee. A graduate of any R.A.D.s course taught by any instructor can return and practice anywhere in the country where the same course is being offered--absolutely cost free.

Space is limited. Reservations are required. Many classes have filled well in advance of the start date. Once the class has been filled we will not allow anyone else to register for it. In the rare event that a class has less than 5 people sign up that class will be cancelled. Priority will be given in the next available class.

Women's Basic Physical Defense Class

Date: July 16 and 23, 2008

Location: Vanderbilt Children's Hospital

(Waddlington Conference Room)

 Cost:

$20.00 -- VU affiliated or immediate family member
$40.00 -- Non-VU affiliate when space is available
(Covers the cost of manuals, supplies, and refreshments)
(Pre-paid, Non-refundable)

* The Advanced class is for students who have completed the RAD Basic Self-Defense Course.

** The Keychain/Pepper Spray class is for students who have already taken the RAD Basic Self Defense Course.

Classes are filled on a first come first serve basis. In order to make a reservation please send an e-mail to vupd@vanderbilt.edu with your class preference. A confirmation e-mail with more specific information about the class will be sent out on the next business day.

You will be tentatively scheduled for a class (if space is available) and will be e-mailed with instructions on how to confirm your reservation. (Note: You will only be considered for classes that you list in your e-mail.)
