Special Events

The VUPD Special Events Unit is responsible for coordinating police and security presence at athletic events, concerts, parties, and other special events on campus. VUPD provides traffic control, interior patrol and crowd control personnel for over 400 events each year. To supplement our security presence, VUPD also employs contract security officers and our own Community Service Officers for these events. The office of Special Events also provides police protection and escorts for visiting football teams and other dignitaries involved in University or Medical Center functions.

The special even unit is managed by Captain Mark Stannard and Erika Taylor.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center Requests

For events funded by or through the Medical Center, please print and fill out the below form. The form must be physically signed by an Authorized VUMC Department Approver. Once the form is completed and signed, scan and email the form to mark.stannard@vanderbilt.edu and erika.taylor@vanderbilt.edu. All event requests are subject to staffing availability.
