Public Safety Systems
The Public Safety Systems, led by Chief of Staff & Director Davis Strange , provides management and coordination of technical projects for the department. In addition, the unit coordinates VUPD's Video Patrol program, manages the maintenance and upkeep of technical systems and assists in maintaining VUPD's computer systems via the Vanderbilt Managed Desktop Program (VMDP). The PPS Unit serves as the primary liaison between MNPD, TBI and other agencies as it relates to information streams critical to the mission of the department. The PPS Unit manages the VUPS Cloud, blue light phones, panic alarms, A.E.D. inventory and maintenance, and is responsible for training and maintenance on all electronic devices and software. This unit is also spearheading the department's efforts to go green by implementing and developing the utilization of electronic devices and tools which will lead to a paperless operation.

Program Coordinator, Facilities, Services, and Supply Management
Rachel Harbin plays an important part in the Public Safety Systems Unit of VUPS. As the current facilities manager, she ensures the proper functioning and upkeep of all VUPS buildings, VU Parking Garages, and VU Parking Lots. From large budget facility renovations to coordinating office moves, she enables the department to resume normal operations through efficient tracking and successful follow-up. Additionally, she is a large purchaser for the department and is in constant communication with vendors all of kinds. Rachel is working towards her Project Management Professional certification and has been with the department since January 2014.
